Krantz Company Ltd (trading as "Safe Space") ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Safe Space service.
1. What we collect
- Account data: email address, password hash, optional display name.
- Anonymous handle & chosen avatar shown publicly in the community.
- Content you share: messages with Luna AI, journal entries, prayer-room posts, counsellor session notes.
- Subscription & billing identifiers needed to grant access to paid features (the actual payment data is handled by Paddle).
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, error logs.
2. Why we use it
- To create and operate your account (contract).
- To provide AI support, journaling, prayer rooms and counsellor sessions (contract).
- To prevent fraud and abuse and to keep the platform safe (legitimate interest).
- To improve the product and respond to support requests (legitimate interest).
- To send service-related emails (contract); marketing only with your consent.
- To comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors: hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, AI inference, error monitoring.
- Paddle.com as our Merchant of Record for sale of subscriptions, payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Counsellors you choose to book a session with — they receive only the information you share with them.
- Authorities where required by law.
4. International transfers
Some of our providers are located outside your country. Where data leaves the UK / EEA we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.
5. Retention
We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations. You may request deletion at any time (see "Your rights" below). Crisis-related disclosures may be retained longer where we believe doing so protects life.
6. Your rights
Subject to your local law, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. We aim to respond within one month.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging) to protect your data. No system is fully secure — we encourage strong, unique passwords.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We may use limited analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used.
